There is no set timeline for rank advancement. Shihan Scott will determine when the student has progressed enough in order to advance to the next belt level. Each student will be different. Simply knowing and memorizing the techniques is not enough. The student must be able to demonstrate the knowledge on what makes the technique work, and also must have the ability to do it quickly and confidently according to the rank level they are trying to achieve.
